The Eating  Balance  Act: Consumer Choices and Eating Motivations

What drives consumers to make eating decisions? How do they balance their priorities to get what they want? And, how should the industry address this behavior?

what does all this mean for the foodservice industry? It means opportunity. It?s becoming harder and harder to understand the consumer, but everyone is trying to do it. The companies and operators who under­stand the complexity behind eating decisions (i.e. Why a single consumer will eat at McDonald?s for lunch and dine at Charlie Trotter?s for dinner.) and are able to tap into the most compelling consumer motivations will, in the end, win.
